Q: What does the NYS Concealed Carry training course include, and how do I get started?

 

Our NYS Concealed Carry training is an 18-hour course held over two days (9 hours each on Saturday & Sunday) with law enforcement officers and certified instructors.

 

 Cost: $550 (includes : firearm, ammunitions, eye protection, targets, holsters, advance techniques and assistance with your application process).

 Location: 9609 Springfield Blvd, Queens Village, NY. Suite 201

 Deposit: $100 to secure your spot—pay in person or online at towosolutions.com.

 

Once you complete the course, you’ll apply through your city’s license division to begin the application process.

 

Q: Can I take the NYS Concealed Carry class if I have a felony conviction?

 

No, individuals with a felony conviction (violent and non-violent) are not eligible to obtain a concealed carry permit in New York State. While you may be eligible to take the class, you will not be able to apply for a firearm license under NYS law. If you have questions about your eligibility, we recommend consulting an attorney or checking with your county’s licensing division.

Q: What disqualifies someone from getting a NYS Concealed Carry License?

 

Several factors can disqualify you from obtaining a firearm license in NYS, including:

 A felony conviction or certain misdemeanor convictions

 A history of domestic violence or a restraining order against you

 Being a drug user or addicted to controlled substances

 Having a mental health history that includes involuntary hospitalization

 A dishonorable discharge from the military

 Not meeting the residency and age requirements

Q: After completing the course, how long does it take to get my permit?

 

The processing time for a NYC Concealed Carry Permit varies depending on the person's background but can take several months due to  application reviews, fingerprint and background checks. Check with your city’s licensing division for estimated processing times.

: Does completing this course automatically qualify me for a NYC Concealed Carry License?

 

No, this course is a required step in the application process but does not guarantee approval. You must still apply through your city's licensing division, undergo a background check, and meet all eligibility requirements set by NYS law.

Q: How do I pay for the class?

 

A $100 deposit is required to secure your spot. The balance is due before the class starts. Payments can be made:

Q: Do I need to own a firearm before taking the class?

 

No, you do not need to own a firearm to take the class. The training fee includes a firearm for use during the course, along with ammunition, ear protection, targets, and a holster.

 

Q: Do I need to have a pistol permit before taking the class?

 

No, you do not need a pistol permit to take the class. However, completing the course does not automatically grant you a permit—you will still need to apply through your county’s licensing division.

 

Concealed Carry Licensing & Legal Requirements

Q: Can I take the class if I am not a U.S. citizen?

 

Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible for a NYS concealed carry permit. However, there may be exceptions depending on immigration status. If you are a permanent resident (Green Card holder), you may be eligible, but additional documentation may be required. Contact your county’s licensing office for specific requirements.​

 

Q: What happens if I miss a class?

 

If you miss a class, you will need to reschedule and retake the full 18-hour training to meet NYS requirements. Deposits are non-refundable, but we may allow you to reschedule for a future session.

Q: Do I need a Social Security Number (SSN) to apply for a NYS Concealed Carry Permit?

 

Yes, in most cases, a Social Security Number (SSN) is required when applying for a NYS firearm license. The licensing division uses it as part of the background check process. If you do not have an SSN, you should check with your local licensing authority to determine if there are alternative requirements.
